Who Are We?

Walnut Grove Community Church is a vital, small congregation in a sparsely settled rural area in southwestern Franklin County, Tennessee, and has shared God's love in traditional worship, Sunday School and benevolence with the surrounding farming community for over 160 years.  Currently we have both hymns and contemporary Christian music in our Worship service.  This group of Bible-believing Christians seeks to be a community of faith where the study, teaching and living of God's Word exemplify their faith, a place where people could come to experience the living Christ and become disciples of Jesus Christ.

The congregation disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church on May 31, 2023.  The church was incorporated as the Walnut Grove Community Church by the State of Tennessee as a non-profit organization.  The church is non-denominational.  Our beliefs, the ways we worship, our values, the church government by which we are organized have been passed on to us by those who followed in the footsteps of the camp-ground Methodists whose tombstones in the church cemetery are marked with dates as early as 1825.  Currently, the ministry area is surrounded by Tims Ford Lake on the North, Lincoln County, Tennessee on the West, the Cumberland Mountains on the East and Jackson County, Alabama on the South.
